Senior Database Developer
We are currently seeking a Senior Database Developer to join our expanding team in Greenwood Village, CO. About the Job
We are seeking a Senior Database Developer who will support both internal and external visualization, analysis and reporting needs. Typical duties/responsibilities include:
- Requirements gathering functions for data requests
- Meeting with stakeholders to gain understanding of information needs
- Internal discussions with developers and other subject matter experts to determine means of fulfilling requests
- Documentation (formal and informal) of solution, as appropriate
- Implementation
- Depending on customer needs, execution may entail one-time SQL queries; SQL scripts for placement in customer environments; visualizations using Power BI; analyses using R or other tools
- Build repeatable infrastructure
- For ongoing customer use, may participate in development of ETL processes; distribution of reporting/visualization/analysis artifacts; scheduling and deployment
Required Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience in a software development environment
- 10+ years of experience writing SQL queries to understand data
- 10+ years of experience writing extract/transform/load (ETL) routines using any tools
- 3+ years of experience designing dashboards and visualizations
- 10+ years’ experience using Microsoft tools for project management and requirements gathering (Azure DevOps, Visio, MS Project, Excel, etc.)
- Experience with Microsoft/Azure stack (Synapse, Data Factory, Data Bricks, Data Lake, Data Catalog, SSIS, SQL, NoSQL databases, etc.)
- Understanding and experience in streaming data technologies (e.g. Azure Event Hub, Kafka)
- Deep understanding of enterprise integration with an emphasis on scalable patterns
- Experience utilizing source control tools and repositories
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in writing, understanding, and diagnosing intricate, optimized queries over large datasets
- Epidemiology or other statistics-driven disciplines
- Experience with visual design factors
- Microsoft SQL Server
- Microsoft Power BI
- Experience with large cloud based/third party datasets
- EHR System experience (e.g. Epic, Cerner, Meditech, AllScripts, NextGen)
- Experience with Healthcare data concepts, frameworks, and policies (HL7, FHIR, HIPAA)
Required Education
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent AND 6-12 years’ experience in the field or related area OR 8-14 years of experience in the field or related area in lieu of degree

Benefits
- Salary Range: $125,000 – $180,000. Compensation will be determined based on relevant experience and qualifications.
